A Message From Miss Margaret’s Family

“When our amazing Mom – Margaret (Thar) Foster passed away January 16, 2025 our family knew without hesitation that a Memorial at VBYC would be fitting since Mom was a huge supporter and loved this camp!

We were able to use the funds received (& matched by her brothers) to do a much needed revamp of the thought area. Mom was very fond of this area and we were thrilled on Friday, August 15th during the 75th Anniversary celebration to be able to enjoy a special time in this newly updated area at camp! In commemoration of the occasion we listened to a camp song, sat on the new benches, shared thoughts remembering Mom/Margaret & planted a weeping willow tree at the edge of the lake.

Our family is very grateful for the efforts of Dottie, Lorraine and all who helped make this happen… Mom is surely smiling down from heaven at her favorite camp and this beautifully updated thought area!”
